- Talyllyn Railway – all aboard this 7 ¼ mile narrow gauge railway journey, opened in 1865 to carry slate from the quarries.

Wonderful Walks in Aberdyfi
Situated at the mouth of the Dyfi Estuary, there are many wonderful walks around this beautiful coastal village. Whether you’re seeking a gentle stroll or an energetic hike, there’s something for everyone!
- Bearded Lake & Happy Valley. Legend says that this lake was once home to a large, hairy monster who was slain by King Arthur. Admire spectacular views of the Happy Valley and mystical lakes during this fascinating 3-mile trail.
- Dolgoch Falls. Discover crystal-clear waters cascading down the mountainside through a serious of deep pools on this easy 1-mile walking trail. The waterfall is particularly impressive after a period of heavy rain.
- Rhydyronen Loop. This beautiful 4-mile loop begins near the neighbouring coastal town of Twywn, taking you through the impressive Nant Braich-y-rhiw valley. The route sets off from the Rhydyronen Station, so you can hop on the train for this walk!
