We charge just £15 a day per rod. The lake is well stocked with trout and although we prefer fly-fishing corse fishing is allowed if barb less hooks are used and the fish are returned undamaged.

Moonrise Lodges is home to two luxury holiday lodges, situated in the heart of the Shropshire Hills: An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Boasting far-reaching views of the unspoiled Shropshire countryside, we provide the perfect setting for a relaxing rural staycation. We know that sometimes there is only one fisherman in the family but that’s not an issue if you choose to holiday here. There is so much to do in the surrounding area that everyone will enjoy their holiday.
Beech Lake resides in a quiet corner of our family farm and is just a short stroll away from Swallow and Curlew lodges. The lake is also home to our very friendly sheep that belong to my daughter Fern. Be sure to shut the gate or Stan, Zara and the others will make a run for it! Breathe in that fresh country air and admire the amazing views whilst indulging in a spot of fly fishing. It’s also a great place just to relax and unwind, maybe read your book if fishing isn’t your thing.
3) Fantastic Fishing Lodge
At the edge of the lake sits a rustic fishing lodge, fully equipped with electric heaters, camping chairs, and a camping stove for making hot drinks. This homely hut is ideal for a quick time out or a lovely lunch break spent with the family.
If fishing is not your forte and you prefer to sit back and relax, you are welcome to sit beside the lake with a cup of tea and a good book, whilst watching your family member or friend as they angle the day away.
4) Terrific Trout
The water at Beech Lake is perfectly pure, positively teeming with trout of all shapes and sizes. From 15-inch, 2lb wild brown trout to 1-1/2lb rainbow trout, you are guaranteed to have a great day of fishing in our lake. We restock the lake regularly so its pretty easy fishing unless of course it’s too hot, too windy, too still, a Wednesday etc! We charge just £15 per day per rod, or prices can be negotiated if taking fish for the pot.
The lake is surrounded by a rich abundance of wildlife, including damselflies and mayflies. My father makes his own flies and some of these are in the fishing hut if you want to see the types of flies to use at the lake.We take great care and attention to ensure that the lake is a natural, beautiful setting; providing not only a fun day of sport for anglers, but also a healthy and sustainable environment for trout to thrive.

5) End the Day with a Sunset Drink & BBQ
Finish off a successful day of fishing with a sun downer drink around the fire pit, enjoyed with your friends or family. The sunsets from the lake are truly awe-inspiring, and the day’s catch will taste amazing cooked on the BBQ!
